IMPROVING YOUR LIFE THROUGH HYPNOSIS
Improve your life by taking
back control through this simple Mind-Body process
What
is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis
is a process during which an individual allows themselves to
become more suggestible. One can experience changes in sensations,
perceptions, thoughts, and behaviors.
Hypnosis
is a naturally induced state of relaxed concentration. A state
of mind and body in which we communicate suggestions to our
subconscious mind.
Our
minds work on two different levels, conscious and subconscious.
We make decisions, think, and act with our conscious minds.
The subconscious controls our habits and responses. In hypnosis,
the conscious mind is subdued, while the subconscious becomes
more aware. Positive suggestions given in this altered state
are readily accepted. Also, the subconscious is not subject
to time. This is why clients often state that their new responses
seem "easy and effortless" after hypnosis.
People
respond to hypnosis in different ways. Some describe their
experience as an altered state of consciousness, others describe
hypnosis as a normal state of focused attention, in which they
feel calm and relaxed. With your cooperation and commitment,
you can expect excellent results through the daily hypnosis
practice.
Jolene
is certified as a Hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnosis.
She has received her Certification in Complementary Medical
Hypnotism. Jolene is also certified as a HypnoBirthing
Practitioner. She was on staff for 12 years at the LDS Hospital
Center for Pain under the direction of some of the nation's best
Hypnotherapists.
As
a chronic pain patient herself and after enduring years of
pain medication and physical therapy, Jolene finally found freedom
through hypnosis. She has since had an active and productive life.
Because of her gratitude for the hypnotherapy process, Jolene
enthusiastically continues to teach the skill of hypnosis to others.
Jolene's
16 years of hypnosis experience has expanded into a private practice,
which includes hypnosis for the relief of chronic pain, stress
reduction, weight loss, insomnia, self-esteem, goal-setting, and
personal achievement.

| Can
Hypnosis Improve My Life? |

When hypnosis
is practiced over a period of several weeks you will experience
a noticed decrease in anxiety and a marked improvement in recall,
academic performance, and self-confidence, with bonus improvement
of psychological health, happiness and well-being.
Hypnosis
gives you the power and control to select the habits you wish
to overcome, such as smoking or overeating, and the power to strengthen
the weaknesses you wish to change. Since the subconscious mind
is our driving force, we always do what our subconscious believes.
We can reprogram new information into the subconscious by substituting
new constructive ideas for existing negative ones, then with daily
reinforcement, new habits and thinking patterns are established.
Hypnosis
is as old as humankind. The old myths and misconceptions have
given way to proven, scientifically sound applications. Today
the ethical use of hypnosis is seen in a variety of fields, including
medicine, dentistry, law enforcement, professional sports and
education. The American Medical Association approved the use
of hypnosis in 1958, calling it "a viable and beautiful health
alternative.

Uses
and Benefits of Hypnosis |

Hypnosis is rapidly emerging as a highly
effective science in empowering
clients to take control of their well-being. It can be beneficial
in many cases as a therapy in itself and is a valuable adjunct
to medical care and psychotherapy.
Under
hypnosis your body will feel more peaceful and relaxed than
it has ever felt before. Because of the deeply relaxed state you
achieve during hypnosis, oxygenation is increased to all muscles
of the body, allowing them to be loose and limp, letting go of
previously held tension.
While
under hypnosis the body releases endorphin equivalent to 200mg.
of morphine as well as numerous other neurochemicals that allow
your body to alleviate pain and increase mood.
One
of the most powerful attributes of the human psyche is the visualization
ability. "What the mind can conceive, you can achieve!"
Hypnotherapy will help you to develop your powers of visualization.
As you refine your abilities to visualize you can create changes
in all areas of your life.

Can
I Be Hypnotized |

Generally
speaking, 90% of the population is hypnotizable.
The balance of that population has an IQ of less than 70, or has
a severe mental disorder and cannot sustain the focused state
of awareness necessary to reach a hypnotic state. Hypnosis is
a naturally occurring phenomenon. We go in and out of hypnosis
constantly while watching an interesting program on television,
reading a book, driving a car, or even daydreaming.

Smoking
Cessation |
Since
smoking is both a physical and mental habit, to become a non-smoker,
change must happen in not only the mental attitude, but also the
physical reaction. Through hypnosis, it is possible to change
the taste of a cigarette from pleasurable to unpleasant.
For
most people, the absolute worst way to attempt to deal with a
smoking habit is through the use of willpower. Like moods and
emotions, willpower fluctuates, being neither consistent nor effective.
In most cases, countless methods, programs, substitute products,
pills, gum and self-help tapes my have been tried, all directed
at the power to overcome the smoking addiction. Hypnotherapy does
not work at achieving the strength to resist; it is designed to
eliminate your DESIRE. Instead of giving up something that a person
enjoys, the individual’s goal is to be rid of something
that is NOT wanted. A much more psychologically agreeable position
to have.
In
some cases, a gradual reduction in the number of cigarettes smoked
proves successful. However, in most cases, effective smoking cessation
can be achieved in the first session, with only one or two follow
up sessions for reinforcement.
To read more about the use of hypnosis
for smoking cessation, review this
article and news segment, aired on KUTV 2 November 18, 2004,
as Jolene works with a KUTV employee to help her become a non-smoker.
